Top 5 Must-See Acts at Okeechobee Music and Arts Festival

Okeechobee Music and Arts Festival is only 17 days away and I am so ready to dance, sing and get weird with all the beautiful attendees. Okeechobee is one of my favorite music festivals in the country. This is the third year that 30,000 + people will make their way to Sunshine Grove in the middle of Florida. This 4 day camping festival will host some of the biggest names in rock, hip-hop and EDM. Going through the line-up can be a bit overwhelming, but don’t worry I’m here to help. If you are going to Okeechobee Music and Arts Fest, do not, under any circumstance miss these 5 artists.

The Flaming Lips

Nothing in the world really compares to a Flaming Lips live show. Wayne Coyne and friends create an entire universe for you to enter and disappear into. If Gene Wilder’s Willy Wonka went on tour with Pink Floyd, it would be something like the Flaming Lips live. They currently only have 9 US tour dates set up, do not miss these guys.

Tipper

Tipper is currently set up for only two shows this year. This legendary DJ is teaming up with some insane visual artists (Datagrama) to create an experience like no other. It’s Tipper, don’t question me.

The Districts

These four dudes from Philadelphia (well right outside Philly) bring everything you need in a rock and roll show. They play their hearts out everytime I have seen them, Rob Grote, Connor Jacobus, Braden Lawrence and Pat Cassidy are everything that rock should be. Hands down one of my favorite artists out right now.

Arcade Fire

Arcade Fire has been one of the top bands in the United States since they released their breakthrough album “Funeral” in 2004. Since then they have been nominated and won several Grammys. I have never seen them live, but I have heard nothing but good things. I love this band and their entire discography (Reflektor was just OK). I can not wait to scream “Wake Up” with everyone.

The Pow Wow

Holy Mary mother of God I am excited for this. Snoop Dogg with The Roots and Chaka Khan?! Are you kidding me Okeechobee? You’ve outdone yourself with this. I really don’t know what else to say, but thank you.

If you haven’t purchased your tickets yet you can do so here. You have until 2/19 to have your tickets shipped out, but be careful. It sold out last year and people were losing their minds trying to get tickets. Hope to see you there!
