For the first time in OMF history, the festival collaborates with the legendary mass meditation movement, The Big Quiet, to host the largest sound meditation ever. The Big Quiet is renowned for bringing together thousands of people at landmarks like Madison Square Garden and the top of the World Trade Center. Designed for people with any level of meditation experience, The Big Quiet incorporates sound practitioners, string instrumentalists and powerful musicians to create a guided meditation experience unlike anything else.
For the first time on the main stage of an American Music Festival, The Big Quiet will join forces with the festival’s musical artists to create a once-in-a-lifetime collaborative experience. Arcade Fire‘s Sarah Neufeld and Lost In The Trees’ Jenavieve Vargaand will play strings of their choice on a new piece composed specifically for the session. Local Natives’ Taylor Rice and Kelcey Ayer will join on vocals. Sofi Tukker’s Sophie Hawley-Weld will sing an acoustic song, and a performance by Miami’s Frost School of Music’s Choir will close out the experience. The Big Quiet takes place Sunday, March 4th at 3:10PM on the Be Stage. More information and details are available here.
Relax and refresh at Yogachobee — OMF’s portal-within-the-portal to the internal world of the Self. Yogachobee exists as a home, a place of returning, of integrating, restoring, inspiring, and aligning amidst the storm of magic all around. It is a space where you can always find peace. This year, Yogachobee will host four movement classes each day starting at 9 am, from all levels yoga and acro-yoga to dance improv and vinyasa lead through unique live sets by Afrobeta and Mountain Holler.
The afternoons are filled with workshops ranging from pine needle basket-making to astral travel, meeting each sunset with a Didgeridoo Sound Odyssey to prepare Okeechobeings for the night ahead.
